Division and Team Collaboration

Situation:  A VP wanted to improve division performance and improve collaboration

Actions:  We co-designed and facilitated 4 multiple day off-sites focused on building collaboration, teamwork, and overall performance. Facilitated teams through a series of work and team member development activities, including unit mission, strategic imperatives, and work alignment. Provided coaching and support to VP and team members.

Result:  Successful delivery resulted in high team member satisfaction scores and executive report of increased productivity and cross-team work effectiveness 6 months later.

Leadership Team Retreat

Situation: A Head of HR wanted to grow her leadership team’s capability and function effectiveness

Actions: Partnering with the HR leader, we designed and facilitated a two-day session to focused on team goals, future vision, team effectiveness and partnership, customer feedback and a larger functional review. The Carabiner Group developed an agenda and supporting materials, facilitated team discussion and outputs, and provided coaching to the leader and her team through the sessions. 

Result:  The leader and team acknowledge the success and achievement of key team outcomes and based on the experience and results, the HR leader engaged The Carabiner Group to provide support for additional team offsites the following year. The leader and team also recognized their growth and improved effectiveness at the end of the second set of offsites.


Group Coaching and Leadership Development

Situation: A global sports apparel manufacturer sought cohort coaching and leadership development for
cross-functional leaders

Actions: We delivered a leadership development and cohort coaching experience for multiple groups of cross-functional leaders. We supported end-to-end delivery of a leadership effectiveness curriculum, including providing content, facilitating discussion, and providing group coaching.

Result:  Participants provided highly positive feedback and improvements in their leader style and effectiveness, including team-specific results. The executive sponsors acknowledged their satisfaction and value of the program as well.


Team Coaching

Situation: An executive team sought to improve their dynamics and working effectiveness

Actions: We and a colleague contracted with the CEO and his team around scope and delivery, conducted leadership team interviews, and coached the team through multiple sessions focused on team-identified needs and opportunities. As part of the process, based on client needs, a team-wide assessment was leveraged to identify styles and preferences and content was provided to build the team’s skill at conducted difficult conversations and addressing conflict.

Result:   The team identified improvements as well as long-term changes to help them sustain their improved results and greater ability to work together.

Strategic Planning Workshop

Situation: A diverse leadership team needed to identify and agree on priorities for the next three years

Actions: The Carabiner Group partnered with his client to develop a 2-day offsite agenda, create an approach to vision development and strategic planning, prepare supporting materials, and facilitate the offsite and follow-up work sessions.

Result:  The team successfully developed a 3-year strategic plan, based on a visioning and priority-setting work sessions. The offsite received positive feedback and was described as “highly productive.”

Global Advisor Workhop

Situation: A workshop was needed to create alignment and build the capability of a global organization

Action:  The Carabiner Group guided the development of a series of workshops for a global community of practice of over 75 global leaders and advisor day. We partnered with the primary executive and key partners to identify key topics, build engagement and buy-in, and design the workshop agenda. In addition, we coordinated key inputs and participants and provided workshop facilitation.

Result:  Positive feedback from participants and leaders led to the scheduling and implementation of additional workshops over a 3-year period in which The Carabiner Group was retained for each. Also, the workshops were cited as a key driver of the global organization’s process development and implementation strategy.
